Robert Elliott Kahn and Vinton Gray Cerf are the real founders of internet, they discovered Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP) TCP/IP. The Internet protocol suite provides end-to-end data communication specifying how data should be packetized, addressed, transmitted, routed and received. So, basically the process of communication between two routers is done by TCP/IP.


When Was Internet Invented?




The first version of this predecessor of modern TCP was written in 1973.

ARPANET adopted TCP/IP on January 1, 1983, and from their researchers began to assemble the “network of networks” that became the modern Internet.

The online world then took on a more recognizable form in 1990, when computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web.

This type of internet is used for telephone communication purpose. This the way of make an audio communication link between two networks. In this, we dial a phone number to make a conventional phone call. The user's computer or router uses an attached modem to encode and decode information into and from audio frequency signals, respectively.



  • DSL


DSL stands for the Digital Subscriber Line. 

It is an internet connection that is always “on”. This uses 2 lines so your phone is not tied up when your computer is connected. There is also no need to dial a phone number to connect. DSL uses a router to transport data and the range of connection speed, depending on the service offered, is between 128K to 8 Mbps.



  • Cable


Cable provides the Internet connection on the behalf of wired cable networks. It passes the range of network through wires over cable TV lines. Broadband is also a type of Cable Internet. Since the coax cable provides a much greater bandwidth over dial-up or DSL telephone lines, you can get faster access. Cable speeds range from 512K to 20 Mbps.



  • Wireless


Some wireless broadband and WiFi networks are not wired. They are free from the traps of wire we can use them free anywhere (a frequency range is given as the registered network). It also provide high-speed in communication or browsing, uploading, transferring of data and documents. Speeds will vary, and the range is between 5 Mbps to 20 Mbps.

In 2011, the weight of Internet is 150 Gram's and the theory is that it would be double in next 5 Years.
